Debbie Lloyd

Debbie Lloyd was contracted to help manage Johnny Depp’s opiate detox beginning in 2014. She cared for him in the Bahamas and later accompanied him to Australia. In a deposition played at trial, she used nursing notes and messages to describe his treatment, substance-use concerns and relationship stress. She said her support role was for Depp, not Amber Heard.

Lloyd described arriving at the Australia residence after Depp’s finger injury and finding writing on the walls and a smashed television. She relayed two explanations she had heard for the injury: that Heard threw a vodka bottle or that Depp slammed a phone. She did not claim to have witnessed how it happened. Her notes recorded that Depp declined Valium offered for anxiety and anger and expressed a desire to drink.

Lloyd recalled Heard blocking a departure and following Depp during arguments, but said she never witnessed either person physically abuse the other. Asked whether Depp was drinking or abstaining in Australia, she could not recall. She also disclosed that she had long been Dr. Kipper’s patient and considered him a friend.
