Morgan Tremaine

Morgan Tremaine described directing TMZ photographers in 2016 in response to assignments and tips. He testified that a tip prompted coverage of Heard leaving a courthouse, with instructions to film her turning toward the cameras to show an alleged bruise. He did not identify who supplied the tip. He also said TMZ received a cabinet video that was shorter than the version shown at trial and did not edit the footage it received. He did not identify the video's source.

Tremaine said he contacted Depp's legal team after noticing the difference between the videos, intending to clarify the publication timeline rather than testify. On cross-examination, Elaine Bredehoft questioned his timing, noted that his attorney represented other witnesses associated with Depp's case, and suggested he sought publicity. Tremaine denied that motive, saying he stood to gain nothing and risked conflict with TMZ. When questioning raised the possibility that tips came from Depp's side, he said he personally had received no communications from Depp or his camp while at TMZ.
