Stephanie Calnan called and questioned Tara Roberts, who managed Depp’s island, about visits by Depp and Amber Heard. Roberts described intervening during a December 2015 dispute, hearing Depp say Heard had hit him with a can, and later seeing a mark on his nose. On cross-examination, Roberts acknowledged that she could not speak to what happened inside the house when she was absent. When Calnan returned to a separate beach incident on redirect, Roberts said Depp had fallen from an overturned hammock.

Calnan also examined psychiatrist Richard Shaw about his opinion that David Spiegel violated the Goldwater Rule by assessing Depp’s personality and cognition without examining him or obtaining sufficient data. Spiegel had testified that the rule did not bar his opinions. On cross-examination, Heard’s counsel elicited that Spiegel had twice asked to examine Depp and that Depp declined, and Shaw acknowledged that the court had allowed Spiegel to testify.
